Hugo Solís

Bridge IT-MX

performance, 2026

This performance constructs a sonic bridge between Venice and Mexico City by braiding together their distinct field recordings. Using immersive Ambisonics audio, the piece manipulates these soundscapes in real time, dynamically playing with perceptions of space and environment. This foundation is then layered with rich synthetic textures and sequenced patterns, generated through a synthesizer and processed with loopers and digital effects. This work is part of a collection of sonic bridges between different locations and cities. Hugo Solís is an electronic artist focused on the creative and aesthetic possibilities arising from the intersection of sound, digital technologies, and interactivity. He has exhibited works and given concerts in Mexico and abroad. He regularly participates in specialized events in the fields of art, science, and technology. He has received support, scholarships, and recognition from FONCA, UNAM, TELMEX, MIT, the University of Washington, DXARTS, IMEB-Bourges, Centro Multimedia, Transitio_MX, and Leonardo, among others. He is currently a member of the National System of Researchers. In 2013 and 2019, he was recognized as a member of the National System of Art Creators. He is a full-time professor at the Metropolitan Autonomous University.

Jaanika Peerna

Warm Offering of Cold

performance, 202

For the performance, Jaanika Peerna uses a sculpted piece of ice as the central element of the choreography. Channeling a deeply felt engagement with the climate crisis, particularly the loss of glaciers, Peerna employs ice as a totemic representation of strength, beauty, and environmental fragility in her performances, as well as a medium of erasure, flow, and transformation. The participatory performance connects her installation Cold Love with the body of water just outside the museum. Jaanika Peerna is an Estonian-born artist based in New York and Lisbon. Her work encompasses drawing, installation, and performance, often dealing with the theme of transitions in light, air, water and other natural phenomena. For her performances she often involves the audience in participatory reflection on the current climate meltdown. Her art practice stems from the corporeal experience of our existence and reaches towards enhanced awareness of the fragility, interconnectedness and wonder of all life. She has exhibited her work and performed in the entire New York metropolitan area as well as internationally. Her work is held in numerous private collections in the USA and Europe and is part of the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain (France) and the Glyn Vivian Museum (UK). Her work is represented by JHB Gallery, Artrovert and IdeelART. In 2022, her monograph Glacier Elegies was published by Terra Nova Press/MIT Press.

Andy Barrt

The Snow Flower of the North

sculptural performance, 2026

performed by Andy Barrt & Anton Ershov

composer: Felix Ventouras

Performance Snow Flower of the North — a return to the ancient structure of reindeer herders’ mail: by a notable mound or stone, herders would arrange messages to one another using a set of special objects, conveying news to relatives, sharing family joys, or warning of danger. I am the Snow Flower of the North. Within my petals, I hide messages that the audience can retrieve in exchange for creating their own message. The voluntary participation of each viewer generates a natural circulation of information. Every visitor approaching the flower is accompanied by a northern reindeer. It rushes to announce the special role of the “Snow Flower” — the natural mail of the North. The reindeer dances and bellows — the flower sways, opening the womb of its secret pockets containing the messages: — You need this right now! — Good luck hunting for art! Why is the flower the symbol of my performance? The flower is a center of exchange through pollen, transmitting genetic information. It is an intelligent hub, deciding what is acceptable and what must be rejected. A natural chemical laboratory, it receives pollen from every visiting insect and, in return, generously gifts spores of its own pollen to every creature that lands on its petals. The simplicity and naivety of symbols in the telling of this ritual story have always been characteristic of the cultures of the Far North: the simpler, the clearer… the clearer, the faster one can use the information to survive amid eternal ice at −50 °C. Similarly, the naivety of my performance Snow Flower of the North is like a tale of a white wolf hiding beneath the whiteness of a snowdrift, concealing its black nose — but in a moment… its target will be struck by an instantaneous leap from the white nothingness! —Andy Barrt

Book Presentation

The discussion, moderated by Prof. Silvia Burini, will feature contributors Valentino Catricalà, Barbara London, and Li Zhenhua

What is the role of the artist in shaping the future? How do artistic practices evolve in response to technological acceleration and societal transformation? These are the central questions explored in this book—a collection of essays and interviews reflecting on the future through the lens of artistic thought and action. Rather than offering definitive answers, this book presents a spectrum of perspectives from artists, curators, and thinkers working at the intersection of art, science, and technology. It is an invitation to consider how imagination and critical inquiry can help us navigate the uncertainties of what lies ahead. produced by CYLAND Foundation published by CURA.
